Stand-alone headset getting SDK

As the annual Game Developers Conference (GDC) kicks off, Pico Interactive, Inc. invites developers and artists to push boundaries of imagination for the upcoming all-in-one virtual reality (VR) headset Pico Neo CV by registering now for the Software Development Kit (SDK). Announced in January 2017, the Pico Neo CV marks Pico’s first consumer-ready VR headset for the US and is set to launch in 2017. Pico Interactive will showcase the Pico Neo CV and Pico Tracking Kit at GDC, March 1-3, in booth number 224, South Hall, Moscone Center.

The Pico SDK opens endless possibilities for independent creators and AAA studios to develop innovative applications, including immersive games, 360-degree video and other interactive content to run on Pico's virtual reality ecosystem. With the integration of a Unity Plug-In, developers can easily develop games and apps with six degrees of freedom (6Dof), and make use of the company’s unique inside out tracking technology and object based 3D sound engine. With Unity integration, porting Unity-based games and apps from other platforms is a snap. Key features of the Pico SDK include multi-interaction controller support, asynchronous time warp, inside out 6DoF head tracking and Object based audio design.

"Pico Interactive challenges creative developers from every industry to explore our SDK and build compelling experiences that will support the freedom afforded by the completely untethered Pico Neo CV,” said Ennin Huang, VP of Design at Pico Interactive, Inc. "We are committed to working hand-in-hand with developers to deliver high quality content and grow a robust lineup of entertainment for mass consumer audiences."

Created with a “consumer first” approach, the Pico Neo CV brings users blazing fast performance at high picture quality and clear resolution - perfect for fully immersing users in videos and games with two high-resolution displays. Based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. Snapdragon VR SDK, the Neo CV features 6 Degrees of Freedom (6DoF), allowing for precise motion tracking and full VR immersion.

The headset’s advanced technology features:

Two 1.5K at 90Hz VR displays for high picture quality and clear resolution;

Six degrees of freedom (6DOF) for a deeply immersive VR experience;

True untethered portability, for viewing 360 degree videos and gaming on the go;

Built in Hi-Fi Speaker with world best AM3D 3D spatial rendering engine;

A stylish and comfortable ergonomic AIO VR headset design.
