PopCap and EA have revealed the release date for Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare along with a new trailer.

PopCap’s long-running Plants vs. Zombies franchise has dominated the mobile gaming scene for a while now. But thanks to a new partnership with Electronic Arts, the familiar formula of pitting plant-life against hordes of shambling undead is about to enter a whole new realm of gameplay and players will be able to try out Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare for themselves early next year.

According to PopCap, PvZ: Garden Warfare, which is being released as a timed exclusive for both Xbox 360 and Xbox One, will be available on February 18th, 2014 in North America and February 20th in Europe. The game will also be offered at a reduced price point; costing $39.99 for the Xbox One version and $29.99 for the Xbox 360 version. The Xbox One version will also include some unique features such as split-screen multiplayer (the Xbox 360 version will only have online multiplayer), enhanced graphics, and an exclusive “Boss Mode” which allows players to use either a tablet or Kinect to command zombie units from above.

Standard gameplay in PvZ: Garden Warfare will revolve around three different game modes, two competitive and one cooperative, set on ten different maps at launch. PopCap has assured players that even though Garden Warfare includes in-game micro-transactions, any future DLC content for the game, such as new plant units or game modes, will be completely free.

For more info on Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, check out the new trailer below and mark your calendar for February if you plan on getting in on the zombie-shooting action yourself.
