Adhesive Games enlists gamers to fine-tune HAWKEN Mech combat in second HAWKEN closed beta.

Meteor Entertainment continues to ride the wave of popularity with Adhesive Games’ upcoming free-to-play Mech shooter, HAWKEN. If you missed piloting your Mech in the closed beta event the weekend of October 26, the game developer is giving you a second chance to get in on the action before the December 12, 2012 official open beta launch.

HAWKEN offers free Mech combat

The second closed beta event will run from Thursday November 8 to Tuesday November 13. Meteor is giving away free beta keys for the event. And gamers can enlist at www.playhawken.com for the official launch.

Meteor Entertainment also announced that it will be offering presale bundle packages to kick off the next event. HAWKEN fans can join “The Vanguard Initiative” by purchasing one of four bundles. Bundles will be pre-sold at a discount on playhawken.com.  Bundles will go for $5, $15, $30, and $60. These virtual items will then be in gamers’ Mech garages at open beta on 12.12.12.

HAWKEN will launch on PC but will also be available on tablets, TVs and other devices via streaming technology. The game will be playable with both the keyboard and mouse controls as well as a console controller.

“Initially the game was going to be and Xbox Live Arcade title because it was such a small team initially and we just wanted to make a downloadable title,” said Adhesive Games Creative Director Khang Le. “It played very well on console initially. Then, because the business model has changed and we’re going free-to-play, and now it’s PC-focused, it plays very well on a controller, as well as on the keyboard and mouse.”
